Family and the negative effects of information technology

It is quite obvious that ICT has transformed our way of life and therefore has great influence on our culture and social relations.

The introduction of ICT in the school system has given us many new opportunities and challenges.

The work of teachers is faster and it becomes more transparent, archiving has become easier and you will also find things faster until you have worked with before.

The possibilities for cooperation between the teachers and between schools has also become larger with the introduction of local networks and the Internet.

Despite the new opportunities that will be the cabinet of digital tools, it is a worry and fear about technology's negative effects.
Here I try to look more closely at the lit part of the problems that threaten their children (students) the development and growth.

I must emphasize that the arguments below are based on my own or other authors' experiences.
Let us first look at the results of research conducted by NOVA pursuant to PC and and TV use in Norwegian schools.
A research by NOVA in Norwegian schools shows that 96% of boys and 94% of girls have a PC at home, while 85% of boys and 82% of the girls have Internet connection at home.
Home in Norway today with children between the ages of 13 and 19 have their own PC and Internet connection. The research also shows that there is a direct relationship between parent education and ICT use at home.
The research shows that 54% of boys and about 25% of girls use the PC daily or almost daily.

Despite the fact that ICT has created a lot of opportunities, such a high degree of IT usage creates social and cultural changes also new risks and challenges. One of the key areas that were changed, the methods of communication.
Information technology has changed human communication and relational processes both positively and negatively on families.
The rise of digital tools use has led to a new type of society that the individual was either lonely or more natural method of communication is replaced with a virtual communications.
Communication via, for example, e-mail and chat can lead to loss of social interaction and learning by building human social relations.

Those who always play computer and use instant messaging as Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger, they tend to choose electronic communication life conversation. When the problem worsens, the user will be an introvert and have the feeling unusual when he meets outsiders.
On top of that, had health problems also emerged that most people would spend hours sitting in front of your computer. Health problems such as eye strain, stress and back strain. Losing sleep and stress.
Besides that, ICT had also created more illegal action, criminal damage and criminal behavior as hacking, fraud, identity theft and pornography.
In addition, cyber-bullying has created a wider bullying without school times.

PC use and family
Without doubt it is the family the central unit in society is essential for individual development and raised.
It has been pointed out that young people today have a more pronounced culture than bedrooms
earlier. Much of the time they find themselves in their room, as opposed to
previous generations who spent more of their leisure time outdoors (

Although the communications technology seemed like a positive force for maintaining relationships with geographically distant family members and keeping in touch with family members that they may not be able to see very often, but it seems healed differently and disturbed at the close family relationship.
Several hours use of communication technology lead to loss of time with family or interaction and activities.
It's not just young people's computer use interferes with family time, the availability through communication technology and communications work often interferes with family time.

Current technology allows the children to engage with their devices than with their families, especially when they are home.

Without doubt, the use of ICT at home without any rules and restrictions lead to serious consequences and changes in the family. To that end, the family members only a joint residence to live!
